《我最爱的中华宝贝》第59集 李知语&Atharva Mishra：我在蒙特利尔逛中国园林

　　由中共上海市委对外宣传办公室、上海市文化和旅游局、上海广播电视台融媒体中心（SMG NEWS）联合发起，2023“爱上海的理由”青少年英语短视频征集展播活动以“我最爱的中华宝贝”为题，诚邀全球新生代用向上的风貌、良好的英语表达和创意的镜头语言展现青少年眼中具有当代价值和世界意义的中华优秀传统文化。在这一集里，李知语同学和好友Atharva来到了蒙特利尔植物园里的宝藏中国园，这可是海外最大的中式园林。上海和蒙特利尔互为友城，上海世纪公园里的蒙特利尔园也值得打卡哟！

　　李知语：嗨，我是Wendy。

　　Atharva：我是Athy。

　　李知语：欢迎来到这美丽的园林。我们正在加拿大蒙特利尔市世界第二大植物园里面的一个中国园林里。

　　Atharva：很难想象我们居然在国外，不是么？

　　李知语：是的。这个园林是上海和蒙特利尔这两个友好城市自1985年以来建立的友好关系的结晶。今天，就让我们向您展示我们最喜爱的中国瑰宝——中国园林。

　　Atharva：为什么园林中间有一个湖？它叫什么？

　　李知语：湖是中国园林的中心。这个湖叫“梦湖”，它是“蒙特利尔”的第一个音节meng，和上海的简称hu（沪）的组合。此外，在中文里，梦湖的意思是梦想之湖。

　　Atharva：为什么会有这么多荷花？

　　李知语：新鲜的荷花在湖中心绽放，对于中国人来说，荷花代表着纯洁和高尚。这种美只有在中国水墨画中才能看到。

　　Atharva：这个亭子有什么作用？

　　李知语：它用来分享风景，让任何人都能把美景一览无余。在中国园林中，亭子是点睛之笔。亭子的屋顶与它弧形的翼角，众多窗户和环绕亭子的优雅长廊相得益彰。你觉得这个建在国外的超赞中国园林怎么样？

　　Atharva：园林是人们理想世界的体现。

　　李知语：中国园林展示了中国人对美好生活的追求和对美学的独特理解。我爱上海，我们爱中国园林，它们是我最爱的中华瑰宝！

　　Wendy: Hi, I’m Wendy.

　　Atharva: And I’m Athy.

　　Wendy: Welcome to this beautiful garden. We are standing in the Chinese garden withinthe second largest botanical garden in the world at Montreal,Canada.

　　Atharva: It’s hard to imagine that we’re overseas,isn’t it?

　　Wendy: Yes, this courtyard is the fruit of bonds forged between two sister cities, Shanghai and Montreal, since 1985. Today let us show you our favorite Chinese treasures:the Chinese garden!

　　Atharva:Why is there a lake in the center of this garden? What is it called?

　　Wendy: Lakes are central to Chinese gardens. This lake is called “Meng Hu Lake.”Which is a combination of “meng”, the first syllable of Montreal and “hu”, the abbreviation for Shanghai. Also, in Mandarin, “meng hu” means “dream lake”.

　　Atharva: Why are there so many lotuses?

　　Wendy: Fresh lotuses lie in the center of the lake. For the Chinese, lotus flowers represent purity and nobility. This beauty can only be seen in Chinese ink paintings.

　　Atharva: Does the pavilionserve a purpose?

　　Wendy: They share the scenery and allow anyone to appreciate it. In Chinese gardens, pavilions are the finishing touch. The pavilion’s roof is complemented by its curved corners, the many windows and elegant galleriescircling it. What do you think about this amazing Chinese garden outside of China?

　　Atharva: Gardens are a manifestation of ourideal world.

　　Wendy: The Chinese gardens showcase people’s pursuit of a better life and their unique understanding of aesthetics. We love Shanghai, we love Chinese gardens. They areourfavorite Chinese treasures!
